I am so sharing this with my S.O. - I don't think he has ANYTHING Backed up! Thanks Jen. :D Your screencast is fluid - How did you do that? I paused on mine.
Excellent tutorial. Would you mind if I posted it for my IS 101 students? What are the "cons" to be considered if you do a restore? Whatever was done between the last backup and the need to restore is lost, correct? Can you selectively restore off the backup?
This was very informative, I know my daughter could use this information, she's lost her data a couple of times. I finally made her a set of recovery disks and bought her an external hard drive to back her stuff up. I'm going to email her this link so she can see how easy it is to do. Thank you.
That is indeed the way to backup on a windows, though for myself I prefer online backups such as Ghostfile for my own benefit. Simple enough for others to understand, yes.
Judy- sure you can share this screencast with your IS101 students. The only real con to consider when restoring from a backup is yes you will loose all data that has been created since the backup, but you can always just try to retrieve just the lost data with a program such as recuva.
