This spreadsheet is a list of free applications I put together, I have also included the link to each application if you want to do some more research on them. Spreadsheet
Nice list of programs. I've only heard of the "Defraggler" one, but it might be worth checking out some of the other ones that rated higher. Luckily, my computer hasn't shown any symptoms of problems caused by malware / viruses ;)
Karen, if you find this please leave a comment about the compatibility of the anti spam/virus software that you list in your spreadsheet with proprietary packages like McAfee. Will adding the shareware in some way affect the way that McAfee works? Or will they complement each other?
Had a very urgent need to try Malwarebytes Anti-Malware today and am very happy with the way it works. But I'm not happy with CNET. When trying to download software CNET throws so many distractors (ads) on the page along with the download button that it is very confusing and it shakes one's confidence in the software you are trying to download.

ReplyDeleteI haven't had any problems with my computer but I know people that have. I'll tell them to check out you list, if you don't mind. Thanks Jen.
ReplyDeleteSo far I've been pretty clean but I will try some of these anti-malware programs just to make sure that nothing is lurking... Many thanks!!
ReplyDeleteNice! I like the way you have the downloads available for download
