My first blog
My blog is called Techie Tipz. The main focus of my blog will be to share my ideas on how to keep your computer optimized and in great working order. I will share different experiences I've had and what I do to keep my computers in like new condition. I hope to pass along knowledge and tips, along with some great software that's out there. Feel free to leave any comments or questions that come about and I will try my best to answer them or point you in the right direction. This is my first blog and I’m looking forward to it.

I'm looking for a tip about something called uggby - how did it hijack my hotmail account and spam all my friends? Did it come through Facebook? How can I guard against it?
ReplyDeleteWe can all use help with this! You have included links to two of my favorite sites although I wasn't aware of the Giveaway of the day. How safe is their site? Do they guard against the drive-bys that are constantly floating around out there? Looking forward to visiting your blog for pointers!
ReplyDeleteWill you be doing multi-platform or just windows? I still help out with friends when they call me for help with their pc's, but I am far from fluent. Your blog will come in very handy. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI've had a computer business for many years, and I love to read about computers. I'm feeling a bit burnt lately. I just got Window a couple of months ago and have to say I really like it.
ReplyDeleteEZimmerman,
ReplyDeleteGiveaway of the day site is safe all the software offered there is spyware and virus free, although a good rule of thumb is to always run a quick scan before you open it, just take seconds. But I haven't had any problems with it so far.
I will try to include multi-platforms in my tips, I like to try to dip into a little of everything even though my main focus seems to be Windows based pc's. If there is anything special your looking for ask and I can tell you if I know about it.
ReplyDeleteJudyNV,
ReplyDeleteThis is a solution I found on the windowslivehelp forum that may be of help to you:
The unwanted message may have been set as your account's signature.
Here's how to check and remove it:
1. Sign in to your account.
2. Click on the “Options” icon located at the upper-right side of your page then click "More options."
3. Under “Customize your mail," click on "Personal e-mail signature."
4. Wait for the Rich Text Format (RTF) toolbar to load. If this does not load, click the “Refresh” button on your browser.
5. Highlight the entire contents in the box and press the “Delete” or “Backspace” keys on your keyboard.
6. Click "Save" to save the changes.
